What is Bak Kut Teh? The name literally translates as “Meat Bone Tea”, comprised of meaty pork ribs long-stewed with soy sauce, spices, and Chinese medicinal herbs. Some of the herbs that go into the dish are cinnamon, ginseng, star anise, goji berries, chinese foxglove and dried orange peel, to name a few.

Bak Kut Teh is usually eaten with rice. Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh is also popular known amongst Klang folks as “Under the Klang Bridge Bak Kut Teh“, because of its close proximity to the said bridge.

Telok Gong Seafood Village /telok-gong-seafood-village-2/ /telok-gong-seafood-village-2/#comments Sun, 26 Jan 2014 05:40:53 +0000 /?p=1727 One of the best kept secrets of Klang, the seafood in Telok Gong, Klang is arguably the best in the Central region, if not the whole country. Tucked in the isolated vicinity within Pulau Indah, Telok Gong is only reachable by car or taxi as no other forms of public transportation make their way to this former coconut plantation. This does not deter food hunters who come from as far as Johor Bahru, Penang or Singapore to sample the fresh and tasty seafood delicacies.

Some of the signature dishes include Wong Kam Crab (crab cooked with duck egg yolk) and Marmite Crab. Singaporeans may disagree with this, but ‘apart from that ‘the next best Chilli Crab is available here. Bamboo, or razor clams and any dishes with prawns are generally very good too.
Along with the seafood offerings, a must try is the “Toddy”, or fermented coconut juice. It is an alcoholic drink with a slightly sweet flavor. Suggested mix – add 2 parts of Guinness  to a glass of toddy.
There are rows of seafood restaurants at this premier seafood destination, but most locals swear by “Coconut Flower Seafood Restaurant” – 702, Jalan Udang Galah, Kampong Teluk Gong

That’s a long time. I remember their ‘old stall’ was at the Seri Intan Cinema, Klang.

What’s good here are the Hakka Pork Ribs, Red Wine chicken, Assam Fish & Hakka Curry Mutton.

This restoran is packed & popular with local Klangites during lunch time…. according to the owner, they still adhere to the charcoal fire cooking.

It’s easy to find, just hop on to Bandar Baru Klang (across Bukit Rajah Jaya Jusco) and upon entering Bandar Baru Klang from the main road, you will see HSBC bank on your left….and take a few steps – voila!

What’s good here?
Salmon sashimi, Tuna or Cod fish is pretty decent.
Black Dragon sushi is refreshing & delightful.
California rolls are crispy & crunchy delicious.

Seating capacity is limited. There’s a sushi bar, 5-6 tables at the back & a private room – which is a typical setup for japanese restaurant in Japan.
